How to Use This Fieldbook
We’ve designed this online fieldbook for:
- People leading deep, systemic change in their organizations and beyond
- Practitioners and facilitators in business, education, civil society, and government familiar with systems concepts
- Consultants working with leaders and cross-functional and/or cross-organizational teams working on complex systems challenges
The fieldbook has several entry points, depending on your interests and needs:
- About: Information about the fieldbook, how and why it came into being, and who has been involved in its conception and creation
- Foundational Ideas: Summary of the core ideas at the heart of what we refer to as “awareness-based systems change”
- Modules: Collections of tools and practices for getting started on key challenges
- Resources: Library of relevant tools, articles, stories of practice, and community links
- Contact Us: Form for sharing your input about the Fieldbook and contributing your stories, successes, and learnings
For most people coming to the site with a particular challenge, issue, or problem, begin with Questions for Getting Started. There, you’ll be prompted to reflect on a series of questions in four key areas.
Next, review the Module titles and descriptions. Does one of them seem relevant to your current challenge? If so, click on the title of that module. At the end of each module, you’ll have an opportunity to reflect on your learnings.
If you don’t see a module that meets your needs, you may want to go to the Resources page. There, you can scan for specific tools, practices, and stories of practice to support your change efforts.
